Fitness chain plans to open around 35 local stores

Workout chain Orangetheory Fitness plans to open about 35 gyms in the Chicago area over the next few years as part of a 50-store rollout across the state, according to Orland Park-based investor Brad Ehrlich, the master franchisee for the state for Orangetheory’s parent company, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Ultimate Fitness Group LLC.

The firm has opened five fitness centers in the Chicago suburbs and has hired Highland Park-based Metro Commercial Real Estate Inc. Principal Nathan Tonnies and Vice President Larry Kling to find more spaces here, Mr. Ehrlich said.
